Situation :
On the plateau to the west of Saint Emilion, in the ancient parish of Saint Martin de Mazerat.

Surface area :
15.9256 hectares (39.33 acres)

Soil :
Asteria limestone

Density of plantation :
6,250 plants per hectare

Grape varieties :
- 70% Merlot
- 24% Cabernet Franc
- 6% Cabernet Sauvignon

Average age of the vines :
36 years

Vineyard management :
- Bordelaise pruning, with two main branches (M. Cordeau)
- Leaf thinning carried out twice
- Crop thinning
- Hand picking with sorting of the grapes

Yield :
41 hectolitres per hectare

Vinification :
- Date of picking : Merlot, from the 2nd to the 6th October – Cabernets, 14th and 15th October 2004
- 80 hectolitre capacity temperature controlled stainless steel vats
- Plot by plot vinification
- Manual punching down of the cap of skins
- Vatting period of 32 days
- Malo-lactic fermentation in new barrels

Ageing :
The ageing process lasts from 16 to 18 months with 80% in new barrels.

Production in 2003 :
652 hectolitres, making 7,200 cases
